Green Festival NYC

April 17, 2013

Spring is finally here and Earth Day is this coming Monday, April 22nd. There’s no better way to celebrate than by going to the New York City Green Festival at the Jacob Javits Center North this weekend.

The Green Festival is the nation’s premier sustainability event and will feature an organic, vegetarian, and vegan food court; the Sierra Club Green Cinema; eco-fashion exhibits; hands-on DIY workshops; live music; an organic beer and wine garden; inspiring keynote presentations, and a nationally renowned Green Marketplace featuring products and services from local, regional, and national green and sustainable businesses and organizations. After checking out all the fantastic foods at the Green Festival, incorporate those ingredients into your favorite Nutritioulicious recipes!

There will be over 200 participating sponsors, vendors, and attendees at the NY Green Festival. Take a look at the amazing list of exhibitors! And guess what? I will be there as a volunteer for one of the Nonprofit Allies, New York Coalition for Healthy School Food, a statewide nonprofit that works to improve the health and well-being of NY students by advocating for healthy plant-based foods, including local and organic where possible.

This is a marvelous opportunity to support NYC local green businesses and to learn more about what it means to go green! I’m excited and I hope you are too!

For more information about the Green Festival in NYC visit Green Festivals. And if you live in other cities don’t despair – the festival is coming to Chicago in May, Washington DC in September, LA in October, and San Francisco in November!
