Got 10 Minutes?

January 1, 2013

Happy New Year! Nutritioulicious blogger Tiana has a great way for you to start 2013 off on the right foot! Keep on reading and tell us what you’re doing this New Year’s Day!

While keeping a healthy diet filled with Nutritioulicious meals and snacks, it is equally important to incorporate physical activity to better your health and wellbeing. Yes, it can be difficult to add ‘exercise time’ into your daily routine for many reasons but your body deserves – and can use – a 10-minute break!

Jumpstart the morning or take a break during your busy day with this 10-minute circuit. A circuit is an intense full-body workout – intense meaning you will feel rejuvenated and energized afterwards, not like you ran a marathon. There’s no need for gym equipment and you can do it all indoors. All you need are a good pair of sneakers!

Do the following activities one after the other. Repeat twice.

Briskly walk in place (1 minute)

Push-ups (30 seconds)

Sit-ups (30 seconds)

Jog in place, moving your arms up and down (1 minute)

Alternating forward lunges (1 minute)

Squats (1 minute)

After completing this 10-minute circuit, drink room-temperature water to rehydrate. Your body will thank you!

Good luck – and by the way, for 10 minutes you’ll burn 100 calories!
